Omg, in a follow up of my last post, tomorrow is softball again and I'm really hoping I don't get hit. Again. Having your own version of the Tezuka zone in softball's only any good if you can actually catch the ball... as in catch it in the glove, not with random parts of one's anatomy.

It'll be WAR!

Clearly it is a sign of too damn much GP that my subject ends up being our classes most recent essay topic of discussion. What is all the hype about media violence anyway? I mean, it's hardly fair to say: oh, he watched a violent movie/ played a gory vidoe game and that's why he went out and killed someone.
It's a pretty weak-monded and messed up individual who carries out violent acts solely on the reason of having seen it on TV. The problem isn't the media violence, it's their own influences in their life or whatever other reasons that cause people to go round the bend. (health, relationships... problems and stuff.) And the rest of us normal (don't you dare laugh about my applying that term to myself) people are stuck with the repercussions of the media violence red herring.
Personally, I find killing stuff on Halo most relaxing. And I haven't grabbed a gun and shot anyone yet.

Okay, enough wierd GP-induced ranting. Finally been doing some of the posting in my shared account. which is good because sometimes I feel a little guilty that poor ol' Grace does all the typing of our fics and the posting.
The Spectra DeviantArt account got a bit of updating too though I need to find out who did which pieces before I post more so that I can do the proper crediting.

Heh, that was officially my pimping paragraph. CCA in a bit; DT says that it's cool for Spectra to start a webcomic. His exact words: "have fun with it." We sure will. :D

We played softball during PE today which I always find a bit of a joke because there is no freakin' way that ball is soft. One of my classmates thinks they don't call it "hradball" because then nobody'd dare to play. Personally I think it's because the sexual innuendo jokes for that name just write themselves. I know sports are filled with phallic symbols and are seen as an outlet for sexual tension (Grace and I had a long discussion on this last year) but one can carry it too far... And "hardball" would.
Anyway, my bruise count for the day is 3 and I can vouch for the fact with first-hand experience that the ball is in fact hrad. I'm going to have some very interesting bruises tomorrow...
I don't know why I have this magnetic attraction for the softball ball. When we played in secondary school, I got hit on the back of the head. Twice. My JC streak looks to be equally painful at the rate things are going.

Yesterday we had Spectra's first official club meeting for the year where we welcomed in our new J1 members.
It went really well. After crazy planning, displays, revamps of our board, announcements and powerpoint presentations during assembly... we had a turn out! Thirty plus J1s!! Most had to leave early (curse CF's clashing meeting time) but I think we had quite a few who were genuinely interested.

Plus there's a bunch of really cute MGS girls. ;)

The "treasure hunt" was fun. My group won. :) But my favourite part may have been when we got together at the end of the thing and everyone swapped stories on how their groups had planned to kill DT. My group's wasn't the funniest or the most origianl but it was certainly the goriest. Ideas ranged from having him pushed off the Empire state building (too far away for the Death Note to achieve so really, DT would just have died from a heart attack) to chocking on a quater whilst calling his wife in a pay phone. To his credit, DT did not actually run away screaming while we discussed all these possibilities.
Note to self: send DT and e-mail saying thank you for being so sporting about letting us plan his imminent demise.

Note to self: check that somebody earased his name from that Death Note--- before they cremate him.

Nah, I'm just shittin'. Or am I? bwahahahahahahahahahahaaa.

My little brother's in Vietnam for a school trip. I miss kicking his ass in Halo. :( Why did he have to leave right after I figured how to beat him on Coagulation? Oh fate thou art a cruel mistress indeed...

Guess I'll just have to kick my Dad's but in a little two-way multi-player then... And no, that's not a brag.

Well, it's that wonderful first few days of school again and already I can feel myself slipping into well-established habits... sleeping through chapel, bumming out during free periods when I should be working... yup, it's gonna be another great year.

Unfortunately, due to the dropping of certain subjects, I'm nolong er in the same class as "my other half". There goes a perfectly good reputation... Still, at least there's break... a really long one on Friday since I end school at one and CCA's not till... four-thirty? Gah.
Still, it's Spectra so I can't complain. We got 34 sign ups from the CCA fair! I'm expecting about twenty to actually show up on the day itself. Maybe less... still, if we have more than fifteen, I am content. Perhaps we should screen a powerpoint presentation calling J1s to our welcome thing?

This year, Spectra WILL achieve fame! (or at least mild recognition.)

L-hotness!!!

I'm just a teensy bit sad because I really think Raito's hot but the guy who plays him in the movie's just... well, he don't quite cut the mustard if you know what I mean. What is it about button down shirts on hot guys that make them look even hotter? ph34r the power of good dressing! Which Raito clearly understands oh-so-well... I'm talking anime and manga Raito here of course, not the movie one. Speaking of which, I'm highly amused to note that every time Raito does some subversive Kira activity, he wears this black hoodies, t-shirt and sweat pants combo. While the hoodie may help with hiding his face, the whole outfit kinda screams "look at me!! doing bad stuff NOW." Don't really have an issue with it, just find it funny. Like the way Raito TOOK SO DAMN LONG TO DIE. I felt bad becuase I was sitting there sniggering my head off whike he was dieing and my brother was looking at me like I'm some kinda freak. No wonder he doesn't want to be seen in public with me... Seriously though, it was funny! I mean, there was poor ol' Raito, caught in the throes of agony of a heart attack and flooping on the floor like a bloody fish outta water. How is that NOT funny?

I'm a lousy Raito fan.

School starting soon and I've only just started doing the holiday homework I was supposed to take a month and a half to complete. Yes, the ACS tradition of last-minute work lives on.

I tried the Wii and I gotta say while it's an interesting concept, the movements one has to make for the Wii sports are distressingly unrealistic. It wants a motion sensitive full-body suit... and my brother managed to scratch the Tv we were playing it on because he was standing too close when trying out the boxing...
so better a 360 than a Wii, right, RIGHT? It's sexier anyway.
